Jpop is very different than anything you hear from the US. If you say it's similar, however, to certain European music, I'll agree, what with the synthesis and all. But please, don't compare it to American stuff. >_<'

You can generalize the thousands and thousands and artists from a whole country... Though I personally agree with Andrenekoi, most mainstream J-pop artists have borrowed and are inspired by both american and european rhythms, choreographies, fashions. The tendency to dye hair blonde by many artists, and to stage broadway or madonna-like shows are just some examples, and many japanese boy bands are extremely similar to late-90's western acts.... Pop itself as music genre was imported from the US
