That's because you're not ripping them out quickly. In order to not rip it, you have to pull it fast. If you do it slowly and carefully, chances are it's going to rip. I know this seems backwards, but trust me. I've been getting her big calendars for like four years now and it works for me everytime.
It's easiest when you already have it hanging on the wall and then hold the spine where it's attached so it won't move and then rip the whole picture out quickly while holding onto the BOTTOM of the picture you're ripping out.
