Anyhow. This is an album where will just have to see what happens... I mean... Well, let's look at the pros and cons.

Pros:
1. It's a best!
2. Kumi's still a top selling female artist.
3. Has songs like Lick me and It's All Love! (whose singles did pretty good, and are the type that the average Japanese loves).
4. Cute covers.
5. No real competition. (Honestly, I will be very surprised if Kimura topples Kuu. She's getting bigger, but she's still not close to a name like "Kumi Koda". :\)
6. Good promotion. (Several performances, beautiful magazines shoots, etc.)
7. It's two albums combined, for the same price.

Cons:
1. It's a KUMI best! (Her last few compilations have sold crap, which is understandable, since they were kinda sucky. >.<' Not to mention all the bests this woman puts out... So, "it's a best album" can be good or bad situation. Especially since the songs on this best are amazing...but people probably already have them because of that.)
2. Kumi's peak is over, and her sales and popularity have definitely decreased the past year. This will hurt her, at least a little (compared to, say, if she released this around Black Cherry-era.)
3. Has songs like Alive and Physical Thing, lol. (Which, obviously that single didn't do too well. Alive is boring as hell, and the Japanese don't tend to like songs like Physical Thing, unless they are !awesome! [i.e. TABOO]. Which, this song is kinda meh, even if that's your favourite type of song...)
4. Kimura.... Maybe she WILL at least end up taking some of Kuu's customers? :\
5. It's two albums combined.... Which, obviously, has irritated some (myself included XD). I mean, I'm sure many will only want the studio, since almost every single Kuu fan already has the songs on the best. Plus, the studio doesn't get it's own covers this way.

So yeah.. More good things than bad, but some of the bad things could really take a toll........ I won't predict sales. Because I will be wrong. XD

Also. I really dislike that magazine shoot, eh heh. What a hideous dress.... Makes her butt look huge, lol. And definitely not in a good way. And, as with the rest of you, I'm not feeling the short hair... Whatever. Kuu's already made me plenty happy with the other shoots.
hehe I agree with you in some points.

The most annoying thing is that the album is mainly the best and it's not even 50/50%
I mean. The best CD has more track, the best PVs outshine the studio's by numbers, the CD+chaku uta is in fact the best with the option to get a code to get chaku utas of the studio album, if not just "trash" it somewhere or something. The covers are connected to BEST ~second session~ and there's no UNIVERSE theme, it's mainly a BEST ~third hello UNIVERSE is here as well~.
And it's being more commercialised as a best, besides Can We Go Back the rest of the promotion goes for songs like ai no uta, Moong Crying and the populars, so yeah.

The studio album sounds good though, I just wished she would release it separetely that it would have it's own theme, more new PVs and it's own promotion with different songs besides Can We Go Back (and best album's songs).

I will still buy it eventually (the 2CD+DVD of course), and it's funny that non-Japanese fans have completely nothing to do with the CD+chaku uta edition except for collecting or just getting the best part CD and use the chaku uta CD as a dust collector or whatever. =P

Money-wise probably the sales will be really good because it's mostly about the best (+another album with some newies anyway).
