:S I think it's a fine idea. (But I guess someone would probably bash me right now for saying so, because of certain reasons...)
But anyway, I think that trending it as a celebration is a good idea. Jpop fans don't trend things much at all in twitter, so it would be nice to get the word out to the twitter world? Also.... from the people I know, only desperate people try and spam hashtags to get it to trend. Most people I know include messages. And @ing someone and including the hashtag is effective, so... ):
In the end though, it depends completely on how many people want to celebrate and trend it. If you don't have a lot of people, trending is going to fail, and in the end, it won't even make the list.
