To me, this means the creative team behind Ayumi (including Ayu herself) aren't going to try so hard to find the "new" - not a "new" style or what is yet to be explored. I think they just decided to sit down and make good Ayu pop/rock. Those Ayu songs that, no matter what genre, all seem to give off the "Ayu" feeling. I think (and hope) this is what she meant by that.
