I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but Gaga's website mentions Ayumi's appearance that day as a plus or something!

Lady Gaga is set to perform her hit single “Telephone” on a Japanese TV show Music Station on April 16. Ayumi Hamasaki will also appear on the show that day.
