^ Aww, that's really cute XD
Honestly, the diva image doesn't bother me because I think Ayu's one of the first artists in Japan to really cultivate or "use" that look -- and in a way, she's smart for doing it because she can be assertive/aggressive/rocker Ayu, girly/fun/upbeat Ayu, somber/quiet/mournful ballad Ayu all within that single image. It's like being a "diva" is an umbrella under which all these images fall for her now, which Ayu can don or take off however she wills...
I can see why people who are more familiar with western "diva" artists would dislike it or find it boring, but I don't really have a problem with it. I think it's just another expression of power and control for a woman to have (and, once again, there's no male counterpart to a diva... so why is it only a big deal if a woman does it? D: )
