^ Agreed. Plus I wouldn't go so far as to say either artist is individually responsible for the idea of a "best of/compilation" album. Even in the west, the labels and record companies are the ones to put together those ideas, right? For a guaranteed hit. Compilation albums = $$$ (or ￥￥￥ as the case may be), so instead of blaming Kuu or Ayu for best of/obviously ploys for sales boosts, blame the label~ But even "blame" is too strong a word because all musicians are, to the label, a means to an end. That "end" is profit and making money. To survive a label is going to do whatever they can to ensure sales and profit. That's just a fact of the business life.
