I don't really see how they can be compared any further than personal preference or the current mood. "YOU" and "you" are so different, and both singers sound completely different.
I personally prefer Ayu's, but that's because of the unique quality of her early music and my current preferences (a year ago or two ago I might have still been saying I hated her early stuff; now I love it). The whole tone is sweet, nostalgic, and thoughtful.
I can understand the appeal of Koda'; it's more modern and the video tells more of a story, where Ayu's is more a sequence of paintings. For me though Koda's music became really boring, save for a few singles, after Affection.
