^ Well I think she started before the real digital age kicked in... so during her prime (Duty) era, it's not like everybody was running around with mp3 players illegally downloading volumes of her work~
I think Madonna is also affected by that... because with her recent album, sales were far lower than her previous peaks... I compare Ayu & Madonna because I feel like Ayu is the Japanese Madonna. They are both pop legends, and have been making music for a very long time!
