I totally understand what you mean. I used to like songs based on the melody, the music, and the way ayu sings it. But now, when I can really understand what she's singing, it gets me in a totally different way. I cried the first time I heard count down, the lyrics just got to me even before the melody.
Old stuff like fairyland and BLUE BIRD too, they used to be happy songs for me. Now, they just make me feel sad because of the sorrow behind the lyrics. They aren't happy at all...
