I've been a fan of Ayu since 2000, but it wasn't til August 2003 that I owned my first "real" Ayu items. For a while, I didn't really consider myself much of a fan, as some people I talked to would say things like "Why do you care if it has 4 tracks? It's not like you're gonna buy it", but I really didn't have a way to buy any CDs around here. Last summer, I was able to go to NY and go to Kino for the first time and bought a few CDs/magazines. While it did feel different in buying the actual CDs I had as MP3s, I didn't feel like I was "better" than people who didn't have any items. To me, there's loads of ways of expressiong your fandom to Ayu (or any other artist/item). Just because you're a fan of baseball doesn't mean you own your own baseball team, or have someone's signature. Just because you're a fan of a particular show doesn't mean you own it on DVD. As long as
you are satisfied with how you like someone/something, that's what should matter the most
