I'd call Johnny's actions for not putting songs into iTunes in an attempt to boost sales "uncompetitive" and "unfair"... It just hurts competition to others - ikimono-gakari's vs. AAA's were quite competitive, but if you had to compare between Arashi and ikimono-gakari, that sure is uncompetitive...

AAA and ikimono-gakari could do the same as Johnny's. They just chose not to. It's that simply. It's not like Johnny's is doing something other groups CAN'T do.
Besides, I think labels don't care nearly as much as we do about rankings. They look nice on paper, but all they care about are sales. 50.000 copies sold is 50.000 copies sold, whether a single reaches no. 1 or no.200 position XD
