I use to have to scrounge up money myself and then ask my mom to put it on her card to buy stuff. But trust me, that kind of stuff will make you even more appreciative when you're finally making your own money and have a card and can buy the stuff you really want.

This is especially true for me. If it's like one song for a buck and I really want to support that artist then I'll do that but a whole single/album? Nahhh.

and as stupid as it sounds, I love buying physical cds from asia cause it makes me feel closer to the country and the artist. to actually be able to physically grasp something that came from china, or japan, or korea makes me feel that much closer to the artist and the country they're from. it's so cool to be able to tangibly hold something an artist released, especially when I don't have to money to go to that country and this is the closest I can get to japan or korea or where ever the cd came from.

lol that's not stupid at all. I felt that so strongly when I bought my first Asian album (I believe it was either Tommy Airline or MY STORY?). I just had a bit of culture shock like "omg, I'm actually looking at a Japanese CD with kanji that I can't read!" lol I still feel that way even years later.
