There is method to what she's doing. And even if you don't think there is...maybe you should try to look at what she does in a different way.
What does wearing a meat dress say about how we treat animals?
Why just wear the fur? Why do we think the fur is the only beautiful part of the animal? Why not wear the whole thing? What does wearing the meat raw make you think about?
This is why art is great. Because it has the ability to produce in us all sorts of feelings and thoughts, and different ways of looking at things, regardless if it's what she meant or not.
Art works indirectly all the time.

I think with the meat dress she just wore it to get attention and just came up with some BS meaning off the top of her head.
If the dress was for any kind of animal rights issue then its very contradictory, " let me make a statement about animal rights by killing a herd of cows and then wearing their decaying carcasses on my body." If she wanted to make a statement about animal rights she could have just worn a gorilla suit or a rat costume or something.
And honesty, I think she preaches that everything is in the sake of art and has some deep meaning just as an explanation as to why she does the thing she does, but it's really not. It's all just to get attention and extend her 15 min. for as long as possible, its just like when Madonna used take her clothes off to get attention, except instead Gaga is putting more weirder looking clothes on.
