I hate my native tongue! I think, it has nothing melodic to it!
But I'm always impressed when I read poems by Goethe, Schiller and other German poets, because they were able to handle the language so well and create beautiful works with it.
I tried to write a German poem once and failed completely.
I prefer to write my poems (and short stories) in English, because it's such a beautiful language, in my eyes!
