you know it also depend on the nationality of the german speaker..i love the german spoken by austrian and germans but it's pretty hard to understand instead the german spoken by swiss people (for example my best friend lives here but she's Zurich native and we cannot talk in german together because of the strong difference in pronounciation!)
for example french sounds like a "sweet" language but in literature german is surely sweeter than french. It depends on the contest too.
