She's been doing both Kouhaku and CDL (plus even album production before2009) for years now. She's definitely much stronger than what you give her credit for.
And why shouldn't ayu perform just because the other team's gonna win? It's like saying don't release CDs because they won't get No 1 on the charts. It's about love for music and performance, not about winning. Honestly.
