You're right, that example
is arguably more Trance than House. But I think our view of what JPOP is, is affected by our familiarity with Ayu releases (which often tend towards Mainstream/Trance-influenced), rather than the JPOP market as a whole.
Like many others, it's too large to fit into just one category, but overall it does seem to fit better under House next to Eurodance/Eurobeat than anywhere else I can see.
