I've pinpointed my problem. The parts of the song that bother me are the parts where the kick drum is counting out the time. It's what makes me dislike Bad Romance, and it's affecting my ability to love this song, its just so lazy and it doesn't give the song any forward motion. It almost stagnates it when it starts doing that.

A good pop song should put empahsis on 2 and 4, not all four beats of a measure...
