I am speculating that the two know each other for longer already. Hasn't exactly been the first time that ayu has been in the US right? And as she herself said, she can walk around there more freely cause no one knows her. I think they might have started dating earlier, and now it's getting serious. Could also be another reason why she stayed in LA longer than planned.
