eh, I briefly dated a Japanese girl before, although I would seriously bet her English was better than Ayu's (to make up for my crappy japanese). But it didn't harm us any. Really the only problem that led to our inevitable downfall was cultural differences. I wouldn't worry too much about their communication. /shrug
