When I first heard this, I was supper happy for them! I also thought that having such a huge star marry a foreigner would also be really good for Japanese society, since I've heard that they sometimes frown upon interracial marriages (though I'm not completely sure?).

However, I'm not sure if I understand the arrangements completely, but my first interpretation was that there would be times when they couldn't see each other? I don't know, I think all the travel and uprooting will be really hard on the beginning of a relationship? Though, who knows, maybe it'll strengthen it? Ayu is a little unorthodox. : )

Selfishly, I hope they don't divorce because it will just reinforce stereotypes about intercultural/racial relationships and how they don't work. Also, I don't want either of them to hurt from it.

Honestly, I wasn't overly surprised when I read it. I gasped a couple times, but I moved on. Maybe I'm not big into sensational reactions? XD (Or maybe I'd already had enough to drink that I was relaxed about everything, lol.)
