I really don't see the point in compilation albums either unless they have some heavy material going on in there. If I am going to buy a compilation album, it better have new editing and mixing, unreleased songs, the artist's best songs to date, alternate arrangements and compositions, and amazing packaging. Slapping a bunch of songs on an album with 1 new song, standard jewel case packaging, ugly cover art, no new/up to date/alternate remixes/versions, no unreleased demos or songs, no new songs, or any of those bells and whistles is hardly worth buying except for collector's purposes. (talking about a best 2)

I never buy compilation albums, but I did buy utada's single collection vol. 2 cause it had tons of songs I love, a remix that wasn't physically released before, a second cd of brand new songs, a dvd with a music video of one of those songs, really cool digi-pack packaging, super high quality glossy laser jet paper booklet, and a cute paper kuma charm for good luck. That is worth buying. SCV1 though? no...not worth my money. It was just a compilation of already released songs on a standard cd with nothing new.
I disagree. At first I want to follow Misa with my opinion and furthermore I don't think that SCV2 is worth the money. I don't get why Hikki released a compilation of her last two albums. The first seven songs are from Heart Station, the following five are from Ultra Blue plus one remix. Utada herself complained about Utada the best because there are only two Utada albums from which you could take songs for a best of. Instead of the second disc of SCV2 I would have liked a mini-album. But with SCV2 it really seems for me as if she was only to lazy to write 2 or 3 songs more for a mini-album. Creating a best of out of only two albums is for me as if she would only recycle her last works. Releasing a best of after three new albums is one thing, but after only two?
