On a TV show or something in 2006-ish though, I remember she talked about how she had a cold beer every night. Said there was nothing like a cold beer before going to sleep or something, lol

I don't think she stopped drinking after that performance, as I don't believe that had anything to do with why the performance was bad. Probably just a really bad day vocally.
She's been rather gung ho about preserving her voice, but it's especially so after the announcement of her deaf ear. The beer thing was in 2007 when she was on HEY!HEY!HEY! or something and she had a mini pink beer fridge that she drank a few cans from each night, I believe. And recently, she was on the same show when they reviewed all of those clips... I'd say around Rock'n'Roll Circus' release and she said she doesn't really drink alcohol anymore except maybe the occasional bit of wine? Something about a birthday and a glass of wine, haha. (Compared to before when she'd drink her age in glasses of alcohol? I remember people were surprised when they saw/heard it.)
