Connected is indeed derived from "The Love I Lost", which was released long before "Connected". You can have a listen of the original and remix of the song
here. You'll notice that the song doesn't sound exactly the same as "Connected", but it seems that Ferry slowed it down slightly and made it fit Ayu's vocals better.
