I have been a huge fan of Ayu for 12 years now, and now that I am graduating college going to see her in concert is my Grad Gift. I have been SO EXCITED to see her in concert!! When the goods came out, I wondered if it would be tacky if I bought everything. Maybe two of everything.
What was I most excited about?? That one moment at the end of the concert when I would hear Ayu shout out into the crowd without microphone. Sigh.
So I see all the info about the concert -- and I get it. Powerful political/personal/uplifting message. I am sure it is the right thing for her to be doing right now. But, selfishly, I am bummed that I won't get to see the "classic" Ayu concert I have been (literally) dreaming of for years now.
I am coming around, I see the value in this one-time kind of show. I wish I could have both!!!
I am sure it will be amazing either way to see her perform live. I guess I will have to go back for CDL or next year.
---Also, does anyone else think it would be weird to buy the HLS goods for this show??? They don't match the experience!

It is selfish, but I agree with you.
If I still end up going, I wanted to see the concert full of props and all. It is the right thing for her to be doing, but as a foriegner, this isn't really the Ayumi Hamasaki show that I want to see.
With all the energy conservation going on, it doesn't surprise me that the show has ended up like this. She doesn't want to be seen as an energy-waster. She wants to get her message across with as little negative impact on the situation as possible.
