Sadly this is a situation that a lot of modern Jpop has fallen in to at the moment, just as western pop etc... did the same. Probably in a few years we'll get some more really outstanding stuff, but for now, it's pretty much mundane with the occasional great release. I miss the mid 90's - mid 2000's Jpop
