But in both cases I think it is offensive. You can't wear a hat with the name of the marine and the logo of a dictatorial regime under which thousands of people sufferd as a simple accessoire.
Imagine someone of your family was arrested and brought to prision without a fair trial just because of a different political view. Or someone of your family got shot because he/she wanted to leave the country. Or you can't see your parents ever again, because you're living in the DDR and your parents in West Germany and you're not allowed to leave the country. And you have to fear every word you're saying, because there are always informer around you, but you don't know who it is, but you have to fear it's your own mother. And 20 or 30 years later people wear the logo and name of the marine of that dictatorial regime as accessoire and don't give a damn about what it means.
