anything see how their music would seem pretentious to anyone! Coldplay (especially oldschool Coldplay) is the most simple and beautiful thing ever. Their lyrics are not pretentious and sound like they're written to impress instead of to relate to and their melodies are rather simple as well. But I guess, with great success comes a great deal of hatin' too
I hate it whenever something just slightly mainsteam that I like gets comments such as "overrated" or "I never got them".
Coldplay isn't hard to understand, in any way, for anyone. I think that's why they have so many fans. It's music with lyrics that's about fear, hurt, death, love, melancholy etc. Almost any person on the planet can relate to that.
What did you guys think of the new single/EP? I gotta say, even though I was sceptical I was blown away, again. Slightly more oldschool Coldplay on that one.
