Pretty much this. I think there's a problem in this thread of conflating "bad design" or bad direction with "cheap effects." I personally didn't like the video
that much, but it's a lot better than her other PVs in terms of narrative cohesion. Her formal PVs may be more expensive and can afford better
looking visual effects, but that doesn't mean they are implemented effectively. For awhile I've felt that her biggest PVs ("Mirrorcle World" especially) have comprised of little more than disjointed set pieces. This was a nice change in that respect.
Really, the whole thread of "people who like the video don't understand ~design" needs to stop. Give your fellow fans some credit; some people value the narrative--or maybe even just the narrative possibilities promised by Ayu stepping into the fantasy/action realm--over the quality of the effects themselves. And other people just like it without understanding or caring why. That's ok, too.
