The ladies of SNSD who are taking Japan by storm were recently thrown into a controversy regarding the Japanese version of “The Boys“.
The girls performed the song on the Christmas Special of Fuji TV‘s entertainment program ‘Hey Hey Hey‘ and once it came to an end, comedian Masatoshi Hamada who was MCing the program jokingly remarked, “I couldn’t even understand a word you were saying.”

The other Japanese artists on the program with SNSD could not hide their dumbfounded expressions, and the other MC quickly moved on to the next subject.
The clip of the girls’ performance have surfaced on Youtube as well as various online community sites, and some Japanese netizens have offered their advice to SNSD saying, “You guys should study up on Japanese more.”

Korean netizens came to the girls’ defense saying, “Let’s just sing in Korean“, and “I don’t know why these amazing girls have to receive that kind of treatment in Japan.”
