I dont think it had anything to do with the fact that she is a superstar and he isnt...how insulting to the both of them.
imo it had to do with the fact that she was supposed to come here, and for whatever reason, she didnt.
Mannie obviously wants to make his own way here, Ayu wants to be in Japan...so, their lives are just different.
