Yeah, there may be such a thing as love at first sight, but even that kind of love requires nurturing and time to grow. Ayu always seems like such a smart, exacting woman...to hear she had something like a shotgun wedding just blew my mind. Why couldn't they wait until they had figured out their life together first? What was the big frikkin' hurry? I do not believe that Ayu ever seriously planned to drop her Jpop career and live in LA. I trust her words, but I don't think she put enough thought into her actions. I don't know either of them personally, and I don't want to act like I do, but I and everyone else is entitled to make a judgement. That's what Ayu and every other celebrity accepted when they became celebrities. And just like I would be honest with a friend, I'm being honest with Ayu (although she can't hear me) because I respect her.
So stop making this some lame fan competition about who's the most supportive and proper. Everyone here is disappointed in this news, and no one wants to see Ayu suffer. I sincerely hope that she had an AIRTIGHT prenuptial agreement.

I think in Ayu's case with Nagase is that maybe she wanted to marry but he didn't. (They got matching tattoos.) Or maybe he couldn't. I hear that the agency he's from (Johnny & Associates) has a strict hold on their idols when it comes to girlfriends & marriage.
She really did look like she was in love with Manny & maybe she felt "old" &
had to get married. (Cultural differences...)
I was shocked when she got married & now I'm shocked she got a divorce. I don't see why he couldn't just move to Japan, at least until she was ready to leave. (Is he really trying to be an actor? I just thought he was a model. He could have tried been a model in Japan. :p)
I really think that if they weren't celebrities, it might have worked out (even if Ayu didn't want to leave Japan). Of course, then again, if they were normal folks who are engross in their careers then yea, it wouldn't work.
I wish them both the best & no hard feelings. Divorce is horrible & I'm sure it sucks even more with the media talking about.
