"Datte" is "because".
And when a person is subject, "owatte iru" means like "mou dame da". This is the recent use of "owaru", especially used by young people. So this meaning may not be in a dictionary. But actually, I'm not sure myself which translation would be the best for "mada owatte nai"-- "We are not yet finished up", "we are not yet broken up" or "We are not yet over".
Do you know the expression "be done for"? It means something along the lines of "have no hope of success", "be doomed". I think "We're not done for yet" might work as a translation.
