JAPONESQUE did very well considering she never performed or had any visual promo! I bet it would have sold just as much as Dejavu if she had done some performances and could do more promo, like TV appearances.
I think the reason Party Queen only came at #2 is maybe because she chose a controversial concept and a genre (like electro and jazz) that isn't as popular in Japan at the moment? Party Queen is different from what she has done in the past, probably her most controversial album cover. But I love that Ayu will create music based on her feelings and will always do something bold, not just what sells.
I was really pleased with both (and they do deserve better), so I am really looking forward to what they'll bring out next.
