If a relationship is worth it, people can get over those factors. Nationality. Or ethnicity doesn't always make or break a relationship.
I think you're "at least he's japanese" comment is a bit ridiculous. I understand you prefer that ayu stay in Japan and date within her culture as it's easier I suppose, but that comment was out of place imo.
