KODA KUMI TO PROVIDE OPENING THEME SONG FOR ANIME, “TOTAL ECLIPSE”
On June 29th, it was revealed during a private showing that singer Koda Kumi will be lending her new song “Go to the top” as the opening theme to the upcoming anime, “Total Eclipse”.
According to Oricon, the lyrics of the song were written by Koda Kumi herself specifically for the anime, and are said to have been inspired by the main characters as they face a life or death crisis for the sake of the human race. When asked about the song, the series’ creator and executive producer Yoshimune Kouki commented, “The opening is the face of a production… When you’ve got Ms. Koda Kumi’s vocal power, expressiveness, quality, and the high caliber of her performance, I firmly believe that ‘Total Eclipse’ will reach not only the people [of Japan], but people around the world.”
“Total Eclipse” is a robot action anime based on “Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse”, which is a spin-off novel series of the popular PC game “Muv-Luv Alternative”. The ending theme of the anime, “signs ~Sakugetsu Ichiya~” will be provided by Kuribayashi Minami, who has previously provided songs for the ‘Muv-Luv’ series. GRANRODEO will be participating by providing the background music, along with new singer ayami.
“Total Eclipse” begins broadcasting on TV Tokyo and other television channels in Japan this July.
