It’s very interesting reading everyone’s thoughts about Timmy. I personally don’t have any problems with him. So far I’ve liked the majority of the songs he’s worked on, and I honestly think he has a great voice. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I find it hard to believe that some people really think that he doesn’t have ANY talent. Do I think he steals the spotlight from ayu? Honestly not really. I can see why people would say that from watching the TV/DVD versions of ayu’s concerts, because of the camera angles and such, but while I was in Japan I saw both POWER of MUSIC and AT2012 Hotel Love Songs live, and while being at those concerts, I hardly even noticed that he was there. And about his outfits and make up. I highly doubt that he is in charge of what he wears on stage. Even though he works for ayu, and ayu has a lot of say in what she does with her career, I doubt that Timmy (while being so new to working with avex) has that same amount of power. And if I recall correctly, ayu has even mentioned before about avex rejecting some of the set lists she has put forth for her concerts, so that leads me to believe that even ayu doesn’t have that much power in deciding what she wears on stage. I feel like ayu might be able to select from a few options, and give suggestions on how to tailor them, but ultimately the decision is up to the staff. But again this is just what I believe. And even if Timmy did have the power to choose his own outfits and make up, they still have to be approved by ayu and the rest of the staff, so in that case they are as much to blame as he is. imo
Also about Timmy being “everywhere” as many people have put it. It is so common for ayu to use her staff members in her videos that I don’t see why this is even an issue really. She’s had videos with her band members (decision, endless sorrow), with her dancers (Blue Bird, fairyland, days, because of you, sunrise/sunset, etc), some of her security guards (dearest), and for the heck of it her dancers even sing the background vocals in sunrise. So like I said, ayu using her staff members in videos and stuff is really common, so I don’t see why her having Timmy around is such a big deal.
But like what others have said, I do know of feel like Timmy is just a part of this era, and I’m not really sure just how long he will be a part of ayu’s team. Whether is sticks around for a while or leaves, at this point don’t really bother me either way.
