Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's “Kimi ni 100 Percent” will be used as the theme song for "Crayon Shin-Chan" and she performed the song with the Crayon Shin-Chan mascot at "TV Asahi Dream Festival 2012!

It has just been revealed that Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s new song “Kimi ni 100 Percent” has been chosen as the new theme song for the TV Asahi anime “Crayon Shin-Chan”.

This information was revealed by Kyary herself while she was on stage at “TV Asahi Dream Festival 2012”, which was held at Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo yesterday on October 6th. During her live performance, the main character of the anime Nohara Shinnosuke came dashing onto the stage, commenting by saying things like, “Ojama shima-uma~” (ojama shimasu = sorry for being in the way, shimauma = zebra), and “Whoa, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu sang to ME! I feel like saying YAHOO!”. On stage, Kyary performed her long-awaited new song for the very first time as a collaboration with Shinnosuke.

The song “Kimi ni 100 Percent” is a pop number, written and composed by Nakata Yasutaka (capsule). “The song and its choreography are simple, so I hope little kids will dance to it too! I’d be really happy if you all listened to it every week, making it popular in town and even a national song!” said Kyary, who is such a big fan of “Crayon Shin-chan” that she owns the entire manga series the anime was based on, of being appointed to sing a theme song.

I love Crayon Shin-chan that I have the entire manga series and even saw the movie, no questions asked! I never ever though that I of all people would get to sing the theme song, so now I’m glad that I’m a singer! Since I love the earlier theme song “Ora wa Ninkimono” too and used to sing it at karaoke a lot, it’s truly an honor to be given the opportunity to do the theme song!

Shin-chan is a special 5-year-old that you could never find anywhere else! The warmth of the Nohara family is really moving, so whenever I watch it I feel so peaceful. There’s also parts that make you laugh too, so I love it!!! In fact, I loved it so much that I made a promise my dad that if I studied hard and did my homework, he would buy me one volume of the comic… I’ve been collecting them since I was in elementary school!

This time I sang the song gently, hoping that this will be a song that you all come to know intimately. I especially hope that little kids will like it! The choreography is simple too, so I’d love for little kids to come to my live performances and dance and sing it! I would be so happy if this song got popular in town, getting into all your brains, and became a national song! I wanted to put Shin-chan’s “Butt Alien” gag into the choreography, but it was impossible for humans to do. (laughs)

I was shocked at how good at dancing Shin-chan was! It looks like he worked really hard to learn [the choreography] for this performance, and he made the detailed dance look like a piece of cake… I was so inspired by Shin-chan’s quick and nimble steps!
