Double post, but I went to see her tonight in London, and it was amazing. She's really great live, and her vocals are super in a live setting. It was at the HMV Forum in Kentish Town, so a smallish two tier typical old theatre venue you get in London. It was the perfect size. I danced SO MUCH, the upbeat songs like Primadonna and Bubblegum ***** were pretty much huge karaoke sessions, she loved it and wanted us to sing louder, AMAZING atmosphere. She has great stage presence.
Really good setlist too, a good mix of the two albums. I think my favourites were Radioactive (the audience went crazy!), Teen Idle (just Marina with a keyboard, beautiful performance) and pretty much all the TFJ songs. I love Oh No! a lot too, it was my first Marina song, so I went crazy. I think I danced enough for everyone in that hall.
I was gutted she didn't do Numb, but I didn't expect a lot of TFJ songs so it was ok. I was hoping for Buy the Stars in the encore, but we didn't get that either. Only complaints though.
The set was really cute, dated wallpaper with neon signs and a little living room set up. Oh, and both her parents attended! We all sang happy birthday to her dad, and Marina bought her mum on stage at the end.
The setlist was something like this
It was generally an amazing evening, she's AMAZING live. GO SEE HER. I don't like most of Electra Heart but they're a million times better with the live arrangements and how the live venue works with her vocals.
She said it was the best live show she's ever performed (the atmosphere was really great!), she looked really moved when we sung the "I lalalalala love you!" part of HTBH back and forth at the end. :')
As I side note, totally wanted to kick the people who sung when she did the 'piano' versions of Obsessions and Teen Idle. They are not the karaoke songs.
ok I'm gonna stop stanning and go sleep
