You consider that a flop? I guess we just have very, very different standarts. I would be more than happy if some of my faves could sell 310k in the US. Or even 150k. And she already was what - 10 years into her career? Most pop artists sell 50k at that time.
I consider any album that gets back the production cost and sells according to it's promotion a success. Bionic was barely promoted and most certainly made the money back multiple times -> no flop for me.
