this is pretty dark. like, POWDER SNOW-level dark.
eta: as far as the first line of the third stanza goes, it makes sense (the gist is basically that the sun will illuminate/shine on the lost person). it's the second line that confuses me a bit. i would probably rephrase it to say something more like, "that child should at least just smile." the impression i'm getting is that even though that person feels so helplessly lost, at least they could put on a smile and laugh like things are okay.
