I disagree completely. I think JEWEL is one of the very few Ayumi songs where the nature of the arrangement is essential for the song to work as a whole. Most of Ayumi's rock songs have an orchestral influence already that could easily be worked with to create a fully orchestrated version that still mirrors the original feeling. It's not like her rock influence is punk or black metal.
But JEWEL is incredibly delicate and I feel like the minimal ticking beat is it's essence. The melody itself is just bland J-Ballad to me.
