I support artistes who're under Universal such as BENI , Aoyama Thelma , Fukuyama Masaharu & Hilcrhyme . I buy their CDs that all comes with DVDs which are region free

Also like what kiseki89 stated , it's not so much on copyright issues but more so on region codes on the DVD . Japan's DVD's region code is 2 while for S'pore , its DVD region code is 3

And also , HMV in actual fact used to sell Japan press / CD + DVD of artistes a very long time ago but because of the whole DVD region code conflict for both Japan & S'pore , they scrapped selling them after getting complaints from customers on why they cannot play the DVDs at home
