Ayumi's style is evolving, I think those of us who've heard
RAINBOW can see that - and perhaps this english is a part of this
evolution. I think this step in a new direction is what really sets
Ayumi apart from Hikaru Utada! Utada keeps releasing the SAME
OLD stuff, always the same basic formal for a song "Generic R&B
Beat + Hikki = More Songs" X.x; Listen to 'Deep River', every
track sounds like its only a little different from the last, and the
album is obviously way too similar to 'Distance'.

People loved 'Deep River' and hail it as the 'best' album of the
year [that or 'I am..']. Well, Ayumi has just reset the standard
with RAINBOW - and if Hikaru wants to keep up with Ayumi, she'll
have to do something new as apposed to rehashing her old
style into new songs xD
Jasmine, I totally agree. I have noticed that Hikki's songs all tend to be the same. That's one of the main reasons I like Ayu SO much better than Hikki because she keeps growing whereas Hikki is kinda standstill. I liked the released singles from "Deep River," but found the rest of the album really boring.

And I don't think Ayu is planning on going western with her "english." Her accent is way too heavy and her english sadly isn't incredibly understandable. If I hadn't read the lyrics to "Real Me," I probably wouldn't have a clue what she was saying.
