I'm so sick of the prostitution/rape culture in the music industry.

I really can't decide what I should think about Sinead's letter. I would absoluetely agree with your last sentence but then again I think Sinead's opinion isn't well reflected at all and I have to 100% agree on what Andrenekoi said:

Sinead's advice nobody asked for was basically shaming her for acting sexual and showing her body, stating she has mental or drugs issues and calling her stupid. Miley probably got offended and I would feel the same.

There IS a lot of prostitution/rape culture in the music industry. Not because the music industry is evil, but just because the music industry reflects the pop culture and therefore our everyday lifes. Therefore I think we should be sensitive about prostitution/rape culture in our everyday lifes.
But I hate it when women are slut shamed just because for acting sexual. And Sinead lost me when she wrote "Your body is for you and your boyfriend". The sentence should be "Your body is for YOU". Our sexuality is a part of our personality and I think there is nothing wrong expressing it in music or music videos and things like that.
I have to admit that I didn't watched any of Miley's videos or performances. I'm just here because I'm curious about her new album 'cos people really seem to like it. So I can't say if I think she's gone to far by acting sexual or not. But that isn't my point and Sinead seems to understand nothing when she writes "Your body is for you and your boyfriend".
First her body is just for herself and for nobody else, like I said before.
Second if Miley wants to give her body to another girl that's also perfectly fine.
Third if Miley wants to have sex just for fun with somebody she never sees again she can do this if she wants.
That Sinead slut shames her indirectly is anything but cool and this way she also contributes to rape culture.
(and for people wanting to know what exactly rape culture means, I recommend
