I agree. I've been an Ayu fan since around "GUILTY"'s release, and I don't feel that her musical quality has decreased at all. Her old songs are awesome ("evolution", "M", "Moments", "A Song for xx" etc.) but I also find many of her recent songs awesome, "BRILLANTE" being a particularly large favorite and "Tell All" being the most recent one. Sure, nostalgia is great, but it's always finite and after years of reminiscing you easily overshadow the flaws of the past with thoughts of how wonderful and golden that time was.
Then again, it's all about taste, and Ayu's music has obviously changed over the years so people that loved her music back in the day may not find her recent music to be in their taste. Nick's longing for the old Ayu is not in any way wrong, but it is, as nostalgia always is, biased, and bias can easily prevent someone from finding enjoyment where they otherwise would be able to.
So I can't tell anyone "hey, stop being nostalgic and realize how awesome she is now!" because that wouldn't be right at all, but I can recommend people to look beyond what Ayu and her music "used to be", just listen to her music and watch her performances as if you have never listened to her/watched her before, and if you still don't like it, it's absolutely fine.
