Chiaki Kuriyama To Star In The Upcoming Film "Tanemaku Tabibito: Kuniumi no Sato - Awaji-shima"

Japanese actress Chiaki Kuriyama will be starring in the movie "Tanemaku Tabibito: Kuniumi no Sato - Awaji-shima". It is the sequel to the agriculture-themed 2012 film "A Sower of Seeds", which was directed by the late Shioya Toshi. She will co-star with Kenta Kiritani.
The 29-year-old actress will play as a bureaucrat from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries named 'Keiko Kanno'. She visited the place to conduct a survey to know the situation in the place. She then met 'Takeshi Toyoshima' (Kiritani), a farmer who continues to work in the farm and keeps it going despite the loss of his father and brother, who was a fisherman. Her stay in the island has given her experiences that taught her a lot of things.
It will be Kuriyama's comeback starring role in a movie after "GS wonderland" in 2008. Directed by Tetsuo Shinohara, "Tanemaku Tabibito: Kuniumi no Sato - Awaji-shima" will open in Japanese theaters in Spring 2015.
