I thought it was funnier overall too, although Tangled did have some great moments.

As for merchandising, perhaps you should tell the Disney company that the movie would be good for that! Whenever I try to actually buy merchandise, Tangled merchandise is plentiful but I can't find a single thing for Frozen. The Disney store near me has TWO endcap-size t-shirt shelves, and that is ALL for Frozen stuff. Finding Frozen birthday supplies for my daughter was like trying to pull teeth.
I don't really want to start a debate because it's not the right thread ^^ but Frozen doesn't really deserve its success compared to other movies. It is not just my opinion, but the opinion of a lot of people in the animation field. It has too many flaws for such a studio. For the feminist aspect it is getting old IMO. Disney is having the same approach since Enchanted and has been using it all over again in all their fairytales since then (the last of them being the Maleficent movie). It's getting kinda old even if I like the message a lot. On this aspect Tangled was more subtle (well.. on every aspect it was more subtle ).
To sum up I understand why everybody loves it because all the ingredients are here, the recipe is well known (the feminist aspect aside, it's the same since the Little Mermaid which has been released in 1989...), but it doesn't really make it a "good" movie.
As regards the merchandizing, I'm surprised because Frozen is everywhere and sells a lot. Maybe there is nothing left as everything is sold haha!
